Karma for MLB

First of all . . .. UGH. . talk about a tease the White Sox have become!  I'm starting to feel like I'm dating again with all of this "yes, we are". . then "no we can't" stuff!  Ugh.  If only they had one ONE of those games in Minnesota today's game would be so much easier to swallow.

So is this whole thing part of God's plan to punish MLB for moving the Astro's games to Milwaukee and subjecting them to the embarssment of a no-hitter while they were dealing with all of their homes and families overcoming a hurricane?  I mean, that was horrible what MLB made them do, and it effectively started the Astro's slide out of playoff contention.  They could have played that game anywhere, but they put them an hour and a half away from Chicago with almost no advance notice.  And all because they could not delay the playoffs and make those games up this week.

Now, we have one game here in Chitown that will probably end up getting rained out (it's coming pretty good now) and potentially another tomorrow that will probably get rained out too (it's expected to rain straight thru to tomorrow).  At this rate, the Sox won't play either game until Wednesday.  That kinda screws up MLB's tight playoff schedule.  Like I said. . KARMA.  Baseball has to find a way to be more accomodating considering that they are a sport that cannot play thru bad weather.  As much as I hate the unnatural feel of a dome, it's starting to make a little more sense to me now.

Morning White Sox hangover

Well, I guess we know who wanted that more this week.  That was pathetic.  One inning is all the White Sox could muster against the Twins.  And it should have been enough.  Jenks just couldn't keep the lid on them.  So now we have to hope that the Sox can match or beat the Twins in wins for this last series, force a makeup of the Tigers game, and win a play in game vs. the Twins.  It's going to be a busy week.  But they brought it on themselves with not getting it done on their own this week.  All they really needed was one win and they would be in control with 3 games left.   Now I have to cheer for the Royals. . . that just ain't right.

So, if the make up game is Monday, when do they play the play-in game?  Tuesday?  Then they start a series Wednesday?  If I'm the Astros, I'm a little peeved if they have to move the playoff starting date for this and they couldn't accomodate a move due to a HURRICANE!

I'm going to have to quit writing now.  I think I'm getting sick.

Win just one game please

Seriously. . . I just can't deal with the Chisox when they're in contention.  3 years ago they almost blow a massive lead and now they have the division in their grasp and they lose the first two games.  What gives?

I think the Gardy coaching is a bit overrated, but they are obviously doing something better than the White Sox.  They've got a couple studs, but position by position, the Sox look better on paper.  I will say that I HATE how lifeless the Sox look.  I mean, seriously, this is a playoff game. . . act like it.  You can tell the Twins want it more, especially last night.  That goofy bastage Gomez was definitely amped with that catch that essentially sealed the game.  That means it's time to light a fire under this team.  Which means it will be interesting to see what Ozzie does before this game.  I think he was saving it for when it was truely necessary hoping the team would pull it out on their own.  Now he's got to do something, and he really only does that is a big way, so this should be interesting.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for today.  If they pull this off, they'll be up 1.5, and I think that should give them the comfort they need.  They should be able to take 2 of 3 vs the Indians and it will force the Twins to sweep the Royals on the last series.  We all know them to be pretty bad, but the reality is they always love to be the spoilers and have put the beatdown on a couple contenders down the stretch in the past.

Time to go to the store to get my brew. .. . if they lose tonight, I'm thinking it's call in sick tomorrow.
